Yash Dhull’s performance this season has been mixed. He has scored just 93 runs in five innings at an average of less than 20, and his strike rate has also been 113.41.
Commentators have repeatedly questioned his fitness and form, making it clear that Dhull is not 100% fit. After another simple outing, Dhull confirmed that he is recovering well, but did not speak much on it.
In fact, the last few months have been tough for Yash Dhull. He had to undergo a heart surgery on the advice of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) medical team.
A routine check-up during a camp in Bengaluru revealed a hole in the heart, which required surgery. Following the surgery, Dhull underwent treatment in Delhi and was monitored by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Pradeep Kochhar, Dhull’s childhood coach, said,
“The NCA advised Yash to undergo surgery after consulting doctors. It was a congenital problem and surgery was done to correct it.”
Dhull’s father Vijay also confirmed that it was not a serious case and a surgery was done to correct it.
The NCA has declared Dhull fit for the game and the coach feels he should have no problem playing the longer formats. “The NCA has given him a fitness certificate. So there should be no problem in playing Ranji Trophy and other longer formats, “said Kochhar.
A member of the support staff of Central Delhi Kings is also aware of Dhull’s condition and has appreciated his hard work.
“Yash has had his ups and downs in both fitness and cricket, but he has shown a lot of courage. Now we are fully aware of their situation, “the staff member said.
