India’s star players Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana have moved up in the ICC Women’s ODI Rankings following their series win against New Zealand. Harmanpreet’s unbeaten 59 in the final match helped her climb back into the top 10.
Harmanpreet rose three spots, surpassing West Indies’ Hayley Matthews, England’s Tammy Beaumont and New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr.
She now holds 654 rating points, equaling New Zealand’s Sophie Devine, who dropped one place, while Australia’s captain Alyssa Healy moved up to eighth.
Smriti Mandhana, who bounced back from two low scores with a record-breaking hundred in a key run chase, is closing in on third place, held by Chamari Athapaththu, who has 733 rating points.
Mandhana is now just five points behind Chamari. England’s Natalie Sciver-Brunt holds the top spot with 760 rating points, followed by South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt at 756 points.
New Zealand’s Suzie Bates dropped two places to 17th. Deepti Sharma moved up one spot, now tied for 20th with New Zealand’s Maddy Green. New Zealand’s Brooke Halliday made a big jump, rising 12 spots to 24th after her half-century against India.
In the ODI bowler rankings, Deepti Sharma remains the only Indian in the top 10, holding second place with 703 rating points. England’s Sophie Ecclestone remains at the top with 770 points.
India’s new-ball bowler Renuka Singh Thakur gained four places, now at 32nd after taking one wicket in the New Zealand series.
There were no changes in the top 10 of the all-rounder rankings. Deepti remains the only Indian in the top 10 ranked fourth with 378 rating points. South Africa’s Marizanne Kapp is still on top followed by Matthews and Sciver-Brunt.
Pooja Vastrakar slipped two spots to 22nd, while Harmanpreet moved up two places to 33rd. Indian players will have a chance to improve their rankings in the upcoming three-ODI series in Australia, starting December 5 at Brisbane’s Allan Border Field.
