In the last season of IPL, Kohli played many matches against big rivals like CSK and Mumbai Indians and scored impressive runs against both the teams, but named KKR as his favourite opponent.
Kohli, who is the highest run-scorer in the IPL so far, started his IPL career in 2008 and has played for RCB since then. He is the only cricketer to have played for the same team in all 17 seasons of the IPL.
This season too, despite his brilliant batting, RCB could not get the IPL title, and the team faced failure to qualify for the final.
Although Kohli was the top run-scorer this season, the team failed to make it to the final.
Despite this, the Bengaluru-based franchise is planning to retain Kohli ahead of next year’s IPL 2025 mega auction.
Virat Kohli picks KKR as his favourite Rival team
Indian cricket legend and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli recently made an interesting revelation during a rapid-fire round on Star Sports.
When asked about his favourite opponent, he named three-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), ignoring the two most successful teams in the IPL – Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Virat Kohli said in this rapid-fire round, “I will say KKR.’’
This statement created a stir on social media. Kohli’s choice is special because he has named KKR as his favourite opponent, surpassing the biggest teams in IPL history.
