The 27-year-old Rishabh Pant, who settled in the heart of Delhi, has now joined the Lucknow Super Giants. It’s a turn that has shaken Delhi fans.
Parth Jindal, co-owner of Delhi Capitals, said, “I have tried everything..”
In fact, Rishabh Pant’s association with Delhi Capitals has now ended. It’s a story that will touch the hearts of every cricket fan. Parth Jindal, the co-owner of Delhi Capitals, wrote a touching message for ‘younger brother’ Rishabh Pant, ‘I tried everything possible…’
Lucknow Super Giants bought Rishabh Pant for Rs 27 crore, becoming the most expensive buy in IPL history. Delhi Capitals also tried their best to retain Pant, but it was not possible. Pant played 111 matches for Delhi Capitals, in which he scored 3284 runs, which shows his talent.
In his emotional post, Parth Jindal said, “Rishabh, you will always be my younger brother. I love you from the depths of my heart.”We hope to meet again someday,” he added. When Pant plays against DC, Jindal will be cheering for him.
Sanjeev Goenka, the owner of Lucknow Super Giants, revealed that Pant was already in their plans.
“We had prepared the auction in a certain way and Pant was an integral part of our plans. We had made some budget for them. Look, we couldn’t buy Bhuvneshwar Kumar and we picked Akashdeep.”
“We needed two Indian fast bowlers and we spent Rs. 9.75 crore on Avesh and Rs. 8 crore on Akashdeep. It wasn’t about one player. It wasn’t about ego. Did we want the most expensive player? No. In the end it doesn’t matter much to the franchisee. After all, it’s about performance and team balance.”
An interesting fact is that Rishabh Pant has now become the most expensive player in the history of IPL, who was bought by Lucknow for Rs 27 crore. Shreyas Iyer was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 26.75 crore.
“We thought Delhi Capitals will try to use RTM. They bid up to Rs. 26.50 crore for Shreyas Iyer and Punjab bought him for Rs. 26.75.
It was the budget they had for their No. 1 player. I thought they would bid up to Rs. 26.75 for Pant as well. If I wanted Rishabh, it should have been Rs 27 crore.”
