In this year’s IPL Mega Auction, the Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant will surely grab fans attention. According to rumors DC may not keep Pant as captain for IPL 2025 which would mean Pant would be available at the mega auction next month in November.
Rishabh Pant’s Blockbuster Entry in IPL 2025 Mega Auction Social media is buzzing with these speculations and big franchises like Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are closely watching Pant’s situation. Both teams are interested in him for a potential captaincy role if he leaves DC.
Along with RCB and KKR – Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are also reportedly interested in Pant, as they look for new leadership ahead of IPL 2025.
According to reports, KKR and RCB may not retain their current captains, Faf du Plessis and Shreyas Iyer, and even the defending champions might allow their captain to enter the mega auction. LSG is also said to be releasing KL Rahul.
RCB, KKR, LSG, and PBKS in the Race to Sign Rishabh Pant PBKS, which recently signed former DC coach Ricky Ponting, is also searching for a new captain after Shikhar Dhawan’s retirement. Ponting’s past connection with Pant could make PBKS a strong contender for him.
A Times of India reporter shared that RCB, KKR, LSG, and PBKS are all eager to sign Pant and could be willing to pay as much as INR 20–22 crores at the auction.
The report also mentioned that RCB is prepared to go all-in for Pant although other teams are also expected to join the bidding.
Pant’s charm and skillset make him a highly desirable player and his presence in the auction could spark intense competition among teams. It remains to be seen which team will win Pant’s services and at what price but it’s certain he will enter the auction next month.
