The mega auction conducted by the BCCI before every season of IPL is the biggest highlight of the cricketing world. It is an opportunity for the franchises to reorganize their teams and come up with new strategies.

Tata IPL 2025: Announcement of Player Retention List

The retention list of players for the Tata IPL 2025 shocked the fans.

The retention window, which closed on October 31, 2024, by each team ahead of the Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction, has proved that the upcoming season is going to be extremely exciting.

All 10 franchises have retained their strongest players with a total of 46 players being retained. The teams have invested a whopping Rs. 558.5 crore on this retention.

According to the rules, each team has to form a team of 25 players, for which a budget of Rs 120 crore has been received. Teams can retain a maximum of six players, including five international capped and two uncapped Indian players. Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals have retained six players each.

Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad have retained five players each.

The most interesting thing is that Punjab Kings (PBKS) will land with the biggest purse in the mega auction with Rs 110.5 crore.

Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings have retained four, three and two players respectively.
