It’s time for a new change for Rajasthan Royals. The captaincy of the team can be removed from Sanju Samson before the IPL 2025 season and its place can now be handed to the British cricketer.
Rajasthan won its first title in 2008 under the leadership of Shane Warne, after which the team has been waiting for its next title for the last 16 years.
Sanju Samson had taken over the captaincy of Rajasthan from 2021, but under his captaincy, the team did not get a chance to win any title.
However, in the 2022 season, Rajasthan had reached the final, but the Gujarat team defeated them there. Such performances have forced the management to ponder over Sanju’s captaincy.
In 60 matches, Rajasthan have won 31 and lost 29.
It is now a big responsibility for Rajasthan as to how they choose their new captain. If Buttler gets a chance to captain, then on the basis of his experience and skill, the Rajasthan team can touch new heights.
Now it remains to be seen what the management decides and how Rajasthan Royals issues new guidelines for their next season.
If English batsman and England’s World Cup-winning captain Jos Buttler is approved as the new captain, it could prove to be a big step for the team.
Under his captaincy, Buttler led England to victory in the T20 World Cup 2022 and is considered an experienced and successful captain.
On the contrary, Rajasthan have been consistent under Sanju Samson, but the team’s failure in the big matches of the competition has led to them being embroiled in controversies.
