Before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has reportedly shown satisfaction with the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) preparations for the important tournament.
PCB officials gave a detailed update to the ICC, stating that all stadium upgrades are on schedule and will be finished before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 which is set for February-March next year.
As Pakistan prepares to host the prestigious ICC Champions Trophy 2025 the PCB is doing everything possible to ensure that everything is ready for this major event in the country.
The PCB chief has even invited the members of the ICC to visit Pakistan and watch the preparations done to host a World Cup-like event. The tournament is proposed to be hosted in Pakistan from February 19 to March 9, 2025, and the venues to be used will be Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi.
While the official schedule for the Champions Trophy 2025 has not been released yet, Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi are confirmed as venues for some exciting cricket during this major 50-over cricket event.
PCB’s preparations are in full swing, but India’s participation in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is still uncertain. However, there is still uncertainty about India’s participation in the upcoming event, which is a concern for both the ICC and PCB.
Reports say that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not yet confirmed whether the Indian cricket team will travel to Pakistan for the event.
The BCCI has stated that the final decision about India’s travel to Pakistan depends on the Indian government. To address concerns and encourage India’s participation the PCB reportedly suggested helping Team India travel back to Delhi or Chandigarh after each match in Pakistan.
If no agreement is reached and India withdraws from the Champions Trophy 2025, it would be a major setback for the PCB, the ICC, and all other participating boards, especially financially. India’s large fan base and its impact on broadcasting revenue make its participation crucial for financial success.
