Indian cricketer Kuldeep Yadav has expressed his excitement at the prospect of playing in Pakistan for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
The 9th edition of the Champions Trophy has been awarded to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), and the tournament will be held in Pakistan’s three major cities of Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi from February to March 2025.
A total of eight teams will participate in this tournament, which will be selected based on the performance of the 2023 ODI World Cup.
The teams will be divided into two groups: Group A consists of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and New Zealand, while Group B consists of Australia, England, South Africa and Afghanistan.
The last edition of the Champions Trophy took place in 2017, in which Pakistan defeated India to win their maiden title. This time, the prospect of possible India-Pakistan matches in Pakistan is further adding to the curiosity among cricket lovers and players.

Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav has expressed his happiness at the prospect of playing in Pakistan in the prestigious tournament. “I have never toured Pakistan before, and I am very excited to get a chance to play there. The Pakistani people are great and whenever we get a chance, we will go there and play.Kuldeep also made it clear in his statement that whenever he gets a chance, he will go and play in Pakistan or any other place, which reflects his passion and commitment towards the game.
However, questions are being raised over India’s participation in the Champions Trophy 2025. The BCCI has made it clear that they cannot send the Indian team to Pakistan without the approval of the Indian government.
Some reports have also said that the BCCI is seeking a hybrid model for the matches of this tournament, in which the matches of the Indian team will not be played in Pakistan.
According to sources, the chances of the Indian team going to Pakistan are low and the BCCI has proposed Dubai and Sri Lanka as possible venues to host India’s matches.
