A big question has arisen regarding the Champions Trophy to be held in Pakistan in the coming year 2025. The biggest question is whether the Indian cricket team will play in this tournament or not? The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to comment on the matter.
Champions Trophy 2025
India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral series in the last 10 years. The two teams only play each other in major tournaments like the World Cup or the Asia Cup. However, last year in 2023, Pakistan’s team came to India to play the World Cup.
Pakistan is preparing to host the tournament. According to some news, the format of the tournament can be changed. That is, some matches can be held in Pakistan and some in other countries. However, the International Cricket Council (ICC) is yet to comment on the matter.
India are scheduled to play their first match against Pakistan in Lahore. But a decision has not been taken on it yet.
Ex-PAK captain Moin Khan has a warning for India ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025.
Meanwhile, former Pakistan captain Moin Khan has given a warning to India.
“India has to follow the ICC rules. If India doesn’t do it, Pakistan should also think about not playing in the tournament in India.”
“I think the big cricketers of India should advise the BCCI to keep the game away from politics. The whole world wants India and Pakistan to play against each other. It’s not just Pakistan, it’s the whole world.”
Moin Khan also spoke about his son Azam Khan. He said the way Azam has been treated in the last few years has lowered his confidence. Moin blamed former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja for this.
“I watched all of Pakistan’s matches in the 2024 T20 World Cup. I think Azam is the best option for wicketkeeping and batting. But then suddenly, after just one match, the whole strategy was changed.”
Azam faced criticism for his fitness. In the match against the USA, he was dismissed without scoring a run. He was dropped from the team for the next match against India.
All eyes are now on the BCCI. Everyone is waiting to see what the BCCI decides about the Champions Trophy 2025. It will be interesting to see whether the Indian team will go to Pakistan or the format of the tournament will be changed.
However, everything will become clear in the coming days. For now, all eyes are on this big issue of cricket. Hopefully, a positive decision will be taken soon and fans will get a chance to watch their favourite teams play.
