GT’s Released Players Before IPL 2026
GT made some tough calls on their overseas stars recently. Sherfane Rutherford is leaving Gujarat Titans to join Mumbai Indians. That’s a big loss for their middle-order strength.
Mahipal Lomror won’t be playing for them anymore this season. Karim Janat also got released from the Titans squad. Sri Lankan all-rounder Dasun Shanaka is out too.
Gerald Coetzee didn’t cut Gujarat Titans either. These released stars couldn’t cement their spots in the playing eleven. GT wants a tighter squad with regular match-winners only.
Teams can keep as many players as they want now. The squad size stays at 25 men maximum though. Each franchise gets around 120 crores to spend wisely.
Gujarat Titans Retained Players For IPL 2026
Captain Shubman Gill is staying to lead Gujarat Titans forward! That’s the best news for the fans right there. All-rounder Washington Sundar got retained for his batting and bowling skills.
Star spinner Rashid Khan remains with the Titans for another year. Young talent Sai Sudharsan impressed everyone, and he’s staying back. South African pacer Kagiso Rabada will continue wearing Titans colours.
Mohammed Siraj joins Gujarat Titans as their premium fast bowler. He brings pace and aggression to their bowling attack. These retain give GT a solid foundation already.
GT built their core around young Indian stars smartly. Gill, Sudharsan and Jos Buttler are batting well together from last season. Rashid Khan’s experience guides the younger spinners perfectly.
The Titans won the championship in their debut season. Their retention strategy focuses on maintaining that winning culture. Gujarat Titans believes this balanced squad can challenge for trophies again!
