The IPL 2026 venue update brings mixed news for different franchises. Rajasthan Royals look set to return home to Jaipur finally. Meanwhile, RCB faces challenges in finding suitable grounds for their home matches.

March 26 starts the new season but venue uncertainties remain everywhere. RR stays in Jaipur if stadium upgrades finish on time properly. Royal Challengers Bengaluru is still scrambling for backup venue options desperately.
BCCI hasn’t released the official schedule yet because of elections. State assembly polls in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Puducherry, and West Bengal complicate planning. The IPL 2026 venue update keeps changing almost daily right now.
RR Stays in Jaipur Plans
Sawai Mansingh Stadium could host the Rajasthan Royals again this season. BCCI discussions are moving forward positively about this arrangement currently. Key infrastructure upgrades for spectator facilities must finish first though.
RR plans to host four home matches in Jaipur out of seven total. Guwahati will get the remaining three matches like previous seasons. That split-venue approach worked well for them before successfully.
Logistical problems at Jaipur almost forced RR to relocate completely earlier. But the Rajasthan state government stepped in to fix issues quickly. RR stays in Jaipur becoming a reality thanks to that political intervention.
Pune emerged as a backup option during uncertain times recently. The Maharashtra Cricket Association held talks with RR about using their venue. No concrete deal happened but Pune remains a fallback choice still.
RCB Faces Challenges Everywhere
Chinnaswamy Stadium’s availability remains doubtful for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru currently. RCB faces challenges securing any Mumbai venues after MI’s rejection. DY Patil Stadium got blocked by the Mumbai Indians completely.
MI suggested RCB try Indore, Raipur, Visakhapatnam, or Cuttack first. Those cities offer stadiums without territorial conflicts between franchises obviously. RCB must decide on their final venues very soon.
Past disputes over ticket allocations haunt RR’s relationship with the Rajasthan Cricket Association. Performance issues also created tensions between the franchise and the state body. IPL politics complicate venue arrangements beyond just infrastructure problems.
