What a season IPL 2025 turned out to be really. PBKS and RCB both ended up with 19 points each. These two teams sat on top of the IPL 2025 Points Table. RCB had a poor net run rate compared to the Punjab Kings. MI and GT managed to enter the playoffs too.

But CSK finishing last was the biggest shock of all. Five-time champions at the bottom felt completely shocking for everyone. The table basically decides who gets to fight for the trophy.

PBKS topped the IPL 2025 Table after the league stage ended. They got to play RCB in Qualifier 1 on May 20. But RCB won that game and went straight to the Final.
MI faced GT in the Eliminator match the next day. Mumbai beat Gujarat and moved to Qualifier 2 against PBKS. The Points Table worked simply – more wins meant a better position.
DC and KKR couldn’t get enough points for the playoffs, sadly. RR, SRH, and LSG also stayed out of the top four. Watching CSK finish last place broke many hearts across India.
RCB Finally Won Their First IPL Title
Royal Challengers Bengaluru ended their trophy drought at last, happily. The Final Match took place in Ahmedabad on May 25. RCB beat Punjab Kings by just 6 runs in a thriller. Shreyas Iyer won the toss and put RCB to bat first.
Virat Kohli nicely scored 44 runs off 35 balls. RCB posted 190/6 total score. Punjab Kings needed 191 but could only make 184 runs. Krunal Pandya grabbed two big wickets when it mattered most.
RCB’s bowling in the middle overs stopped Punjab’s chase completely. PBKS kept falling behind the required run rate throughout.
Players Feeling After the Final
This Final Match ended RCB’s painful 18-year championship wait. Virat Kohli cried tears of joy after the win. He thanked all fans who stuck with them always.
Jitesh Sharma and Dinesh Karthik also spoke about their feelings. This trophy means the world to everyone at RCB. Shreyas Iyer said his team fought hard despite losing. Punjab will come back stronger next IPL 2026 season.
