Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson sees great promise in young Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He believes the 13-year-old could play for India very soon. Samson shared his thoughts about the young cricket star recently.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has amazing batting skills for his age. Samson noticed his talent during practice sessions at their academy. The captain was impressed by how the boy hit sixes.
“Vaibhav (Suryavanshi) looks very confident; he was hitting sixes out of the ground at the academy. People were already talking about his power-hitting. What else can you ask for? It’s all about understanding his strengths, backing him, and being there for him like an elder brother,” Samson said.
Samson wants to create the right environment for Suryavanshi. He believes the young player needs support to grow. The team plans to keep pressure away from him.
“You never know—he might play for India soon,” Samson added. The captain thinks this could happen in just a few years. His confidence in the young player speaks volumes.
Record-Breaking Journey
Vaibhav’s cricket story already includes many impressive achievements. He made his first-class debut for Bihar in January 2024. He was only 12 years old at that time.
The Rajasthan Royals signed Suryavanshi later that same year. This made him the youngest player with an IPL contract. Many cricket fans were surprised by this bold move.
The team saw his potential despite his young age. They believe he can handle the pressure of professional cricket. His signing shows their faith in young talent.
Suryavanshi scored a century against Australia Under-19 in October 2024. He needed just 58 balls to reach this milestone. This was the fastest century by an Indian in Under-19 Tests.
It ranks as the second-fastest century in all Under-19 Tests. This performance proved his ability against international opposition. Cricket experts took serious notice after this match.
Looking Ahead to IPL 2025
Coaches note that Suryavanshi shows remarkable calmness while batting. He approaches the game like a much older player. His technique already looks refined and solid. Samson and the Rajasthan Royals will help him along this path.
