IPL 2025 gave us one more good match between RR and CSK. The match took place at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
CSK chose to bowl first after winning the toss. Fans witnessed great cricket from both teams. RR faced early hassle as their opening batsmen got out early. Jaiswal and Samson couldn’t score good runs. Nitish Rana stepped up when his team needed him most. He performed an amazing inning for RR.
Rana scored 81 runs from just 36 balls. His blazing knock included 10 boundaries and 5 huge sixes. Thanks to Nitish Rana, RR scored 182 runs on the board. They lost 9 wickets of their 20 overs.
CSK’s Chase Falls Short
CSK did not begin their chase well. Rachin Ravindra got out on duck. Rahul Tripathi managed to score only 23 before getting out. The pressure established on the rest of the team.
Ruturaj Gaikwad fought well as the CSK captain. He scored his first fifty of IPL 2025. Gaikwad made 63 runs from 44 balls. He hit 7 fours and 1 six during his inning. But his attempt wasn’t enough to win the match.
Hasaranga led the bowling group for RR. He took 4 wickets, Jofra Archer supported him with an economical bowling. Together they controlled CSK’s batting lineup.
A Glimpse of Dhoni Magic
“Thala” fans were excited to see MS Dhoni bat in this RR vs CSK match. He came in at number seven in the batting order. Dhoni scored a quick 16 runs from 11 balls. He hit one four and one six.
CSK lost the match by 9 runs despite their efforts. This was RR’s first win of IPL 2025. They had lost their previous two matches. Nitish Rana deserved all the praise for his match-winning innings.
Both teams have strong squads in this season. CSK will look to bounce back as five-time champions. RR hopes to continue their winning form in upcoming matches.
