Mumbai Indians Women won a big cricket match yesterday! They beat Gujarat Giants by 47 runs. Now they get to play in the final game. The match was in Mumbai on March 13.
Gujarat chose to let Mumbai bat first. This was not a good choice! Mumbai hit the ball all over the field. They scored 213 runs in their 20 overs.
Nat Sciver-Brunt hit the ball really hard. She made 77 runs super fast. She only needed 38 balls! She hit ten fours and two sixes.
Hayley Matthews also scored 77 runs. She took a bit longer with 50 balls. These two players helped Mumbai get a huge score.
The team captain also did great. Harmanpreet Kaur added 36 quick runs. She only faced 18 balls. Her hitting at the end helped a lot.
Gujarat Tried Hard But Lost
Gujarat needed 214 runs to win. That’s a really big number! They tried their best but only got to 166 runs. Mumbai got them all out.
Danielle Gibson played well for Gujarat. She hit 34 runs. Phoebe Litchfield also tried hard. She made 31 runs pretty quickly.
Hayley Matthews was amazing in this game. First, she scored runs. Then she took 3 wickets too! She only gave away 31 runs.
Amelia Kerr helped by taking 2 wickets. Between them, they stopped Gujarat from scoring enough runs.
Looking Forward to the Final
Hayley Matthews got a Player of the Match award after the game. She was the best player on the field. Both her batting and bowling were super!
Mumbai will now play against Delhi Capitals. The final game is on March 15. These two teams played in the final back in 2023 too.
Mumbai wants to win their second big trophy. They look really strong right now. Their batting is powerful and their bowling is tough.
