BCCI dropped the full players list for the WPL 2026 mega auction and it looks exciting. A total of 277 cricketers will fight for just 73 spots available across five teams. The auction happens in New Delhi on November 27 starting at 3:30 PM IST.

WPL 2026 Players List Breakdown
The players list has 194 Indian women cricketers battling for 50 open slots only. That means more than 140 Indian players go home empty-handed after the auction ends. The competition looks brutal because everyone wants to play WPL badly.
Overseas players include 66 capped cricketers and 17 uncapped talents from different countries. These foreign stars fight for just 23 spots which makes things super competitive there. Big names like Laura Wolvaardt, Alyssa Healy and Deepti Sharma headline the marquee list.
BCCI divided the players into different price brackets for the auction fairly. 19 players sit in the Rs 50 lakh bracket while 11 got Rs 40 lakh base price. Another 88 cricketers start from Rs 30 lakh when bidding begins.
Team Purses for WPL 2026 Auction
UP Warriorz comes with the fattest wallet, having Rs 14.5 crore to spend freely. They can grab multiple expensive players without worrying about the budget running out quickly. Gujarat Giants have Rs 9 crore which gives them decent buying power too.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru holds Rs 6.15 crore for the WPL 2026 mega auction day. The Mumbai Indians got the smallest purse at just Rs 5.75 crore after retaining players. Delhi Capitals sit close with Rs 5.7 crore to build their squad around.
Five franchises already kept 17 players including seven overseas stars through retention earlier. Now they use the remaining money plus RTM cards to complete their squads smartly.
What Makes This Auction Bids Special
This becomes WPL’s biggest mega-auction ever with 277 players list going under the hammer. Teams can use the Right To Match option to grab back players they lost previously. Every franchise had prepared its strategy secretly for months before this day arrived.
The WPL 2026 mega auction attracts attention because the world’s best women cricketers participate together. Fans can watch live on JioHotstar streaming or StarSports television channels from home.
