This IPL season produced some monster totals across all venues regularly. Teams chased down 200-plus scores like they were nothing special. Flat pitches, dew factor, and the impact player rule created perfect batting conditions.

Scores above 240 became surprisingly common throughout the tournament matches. Bowlers struggled to contain batsmen on these roads everywhere they played. The conditions favored aggressive stroke play from ball one.
But not every established batter thrived during these batting-friendly circumstances strangely. Some well-known names struggled badly despite favorable conditions helping others. Their poor strike rates became serious liabilities for their franchises ultimately.
The Criteria for This List
This ranking includes only batsmen who crossed 200 runs this season. That minimum ensures we’re judging regular contributors fairly enough. Players who batted occasionally don’t feature here at all.
The Top 5 Batsmen list focuses purely on strike rate statistics. Runs scored matter less than how quickly they came. IPL 2026 demanded fast scoring from everyone batting regularly.
Top 5 Batsmen with Lowest Strike Rate
- Kartik Sharma
Kartik sits fifth with 276 runs at 137.31 strike rate. The CSK debutant showed promise despite this ranking. His first IPL season brought valuable experience across 10 games.
- Nicholas Pooran
Nichy P shocked everyone landing in fourth position surprisingly. The LSG batter scored 216 runs striking at just 130.90. That’s way below expectations from such an aggressive T20 specialist!
- Ajinkya Rahane
Rahane comes third with 251 runs at a 130.7 strike rate. The KKR opener got out cheaply too often. His slow starts hurt the team during powerplay overs badly.
- Tristan Stubbs
Stubbs scored 275 runs for DC at a 127.90 strike rate. Two half-centuries came during his 13 games played. But the South African failed to deliver the expected power-hitting throughout.
- Ruturaj Gaikwad
Ruturaj tops this unwanted list as CSK captain unfortunately. He managed 321 runs across 13 matches at the lowest strike rate. Just a 121.59 strike rate from a top-order batter hurts teams. Only two fifties and frequent cheap dismissals damaged CSK’s chances. His captaincy carried extra pressure affecting his batting form clearly.
