Sediqullah Atal couldn’t break into the playing XI regularly enough. Darshan Nalkande is heading out after limited opportunities were given. The biggest shock comes with Faf du Plessis getting released. That’s quite surprising considering his leadership qualities and batting skills.
These players just didn’t perform when team needed them most. The bowling department particularly let the team down badly.
Strong Core Delhi Capitals Is Keeping for IPL 2026
Captain Axar Patel stays put to lead DC in IPL 2026. Tristan Stubbs keeps the wicketkeeping duties behind the stumps again. Kuldeep Yadav remains their premier spinner with match-winning abilities always.
Mitchell Starc, Mustafizur Rahman and Mukesh Kumar handle the pace bowling department. Sameer Rizvi, Ashutosh Sharma, and Vipraj Nigam provide middle-order depth. Young guns like Abishek Porel and Madhav Tiwari get another chance.
Manvanth Kumar L, Tripurana Vijay, and Ajay Jadav Mandal stay back. T Natarajan brings his death bowling skills to arsenal. That’s a decent mix of youth and experience overall.
KL Rahul Trade Rumours Making Noise for IPL 2026
KL Rahul might be heading to the Kolkata Knight Riders soon. KKR wants him badly and offered Andre Russell in exchange. But nothing’s confirmed yet from either DC or KKR officially.
Rahul could provide the captaincy option KKR desperately needs right now. DC might agree if they get Russell’s explosive hitting power.
The IPL 2026 mini-auction happens in December. Delhi Capitals needs to fill the gaps left by these players. Their management wants playoffs at a minimum next season after this disappointment. Fifth-place finishes won’t satisfy anyone anymore.
